Besides the founding duo of Pulsinger and Tunakan, one of the two other true production crackerjacks within the Cheap longstanding roster is Mario Neugebauer (the other one?! Well, Potuznik, if you ask me! And uncle Sven Väth would most likely agree).
After the almost revolutionary, crazily right on the money move of combining his production frenzy with Viennese expat singer Louie Austen's crooning talents, Neugebauer showed once again his keen interest to work with actual singers instead of relying solely on vocal samples, co-opting the talented but otherwise largely unknown Ken Cesar (well, who cares, one great feat can be enough to go down in history, think about David O'Hara!..With the due proportions, GWS).
The result is one of the most precious releases of the entire Cheap catalog: House soul somewhere between Fingers Inc. and D'Angelo, "quirkshaked" à la Viennese.
The psychedelic trance increases gradually from track to track, reaching its climax with the last piece, 'I was made': an anxious thrillove of syncopated beats and boggy chords you can almost feel on the fingertips.
Oh, by the way, you might want to cop the full digital release, as that's the only way you can get your ears on the previously unreleased house anthem "Summer Lovin' ".
